EUTAW, Ala. - Search crews say they've recovered the body of a missing boater in western Alabama.
Freddie Ingraham, of the Alabama Marine Police, tells WBRC-TV officials found the body of Christopher Averett in the Black Warrior River Wednesday morning.
Authorities say the man was found a short distance from where he fell into the water. Ingram says a second boater was able to swim from the area, which is known for strong undercurrents.
Officials say neither of the men who fell into the water was wearing a life vest.
