Hamilton County Schools officials say they should soon have a fix for a payroll fiasco that left thousands of employees without their biweekly direct deposit paychecks.

Robert Sharpe, an assistant superintendent, said the school system received its usual confirmation yesterday that payroll had gone through. But teachers, aides and principals found no deposits in their accounts this morning.

"There's a glitch somewhere," Sharpe said. "But they expect to have it all taken care of by the end of the day."

It is unclear how many employees are affected.
