Tornado hits Ohio's Ursuline College; no one hurt

PEPPER PIKE, Ohio - The National Weather Service says a tornado of 110 mph winds has hit the campus of Ursuline College in northeast Ohio. College officials say no one was injured.

Officials say on the college's website that the tornado hit about 3:45 a.m. Saturday and caused an external wall of the school's O'Brien Athletic Center to collapse and destroyed part of the roof. The college is about 12 miles east of Cleveland.

The campus was closed Saturday and Sunday while officials assess the damage.

The school website said the storm also damaged several other buildings, including a science center and a library. Many trees were uprooted or destroyed and there was minor damage to other campus facilities.

A disaster relief fund will be established.
