Chattanooga woman killed in Nashville wreck was advocate for autism

CHATTANOOGA - Channel 3 has learned news details about the Chattanooga woman killed in an accident near Nashville this weekend.

State troopers say Ruben Prado-Pena was driving on I-24 East and hit another car head on Saturday morning. Cynthia Joyner, 31, of Chattanooga, was killed in the wreck. The driver and another passenger in the car were taken to the hospital. Officers say Prado-Pena ran from the scene.

Close friends of Joyner reached out to Channel 3. They say she was an activist for human rights and a mother of two, her son is autistic. Recently she was preparing for a benefit called "Pints for Autism", which is scheduled for Sunday evening.
