Chattanooga animal ordinance dead for now

A controversial city animal control ordinance was taken off the table today.

The ordinance that would have dealt with animal breeders, rescue shelters, animal performances and other issues was removed from the council's agenda today and is dead in its current form.

City Council member Moses Freeman said there needs to be a task force made up of more than the animal control board put together to study how to better reign in the city's current mishmash of ordinances dealing with animal control.
