UT's proposal for fracking lease under scrutiny

Two staffers for the Southern Environmental Law Center spent five days in March sifting through boxes of documents, emails and memos in their downtown Nashville office.

The group was under the deadline of a looming special meeting of the executive subcommittee of the State Building Commission, which was set to consider the University of Tennessee's plan to study fracking on land in Morgan and Scott counties.

The SELC's work that week resulted in a 10-page sourced timeline of the proposal that the organization insists shows the university has not been forthright.
