New York officials: Self-help couple commits suicide

NEW YORK - Authorities say a New York City couple who hosted a self-help radio show called "The Pursuit of Happiness" have taken their own lives.

A medical examiner spokeswoman said Thursday that autopsies found that John Littig and Lynne Rosen died from asphyxiation.

The bodies were found Wednesday in the victims' Brooklyn home. They had put plastic bags over their heads and inhaled helium.

Police said suicide notes indicated they wanted to die together.

The couple gave advice on how to lead more fulfilling lives on a monthly radio show broadcast on WBAI-FM. There was no immediate response to a message left Thursday with the radio station.
