Artist leaves plans for ashes

NASHVILLE - A Nashville artist loved her medium so much that she decided to become a part of it.

WPLN reports that Sylvia Hyman shaped clay until her final weeks of life when she was in her 90s. She died in December, but not before leaving specific instruction on what to do with her remains.

Hyman not only wanted to have her ashes held by clay pottery, she wanted them added to the pottery.

In addition, she left some of her ashes for other artists to use as they make creations out of clay.
