The Chattanooga City Council voted 9-0 tonight to defer for a week approving almost $1.5 million to build a new fire hall in East Lake.
Councilman Chris Anderson said he wanted time to talk to residents about their thoughts on the fire hall.
The councilman said he wanted to know why the proposed fire hall would be set in a residential area and not on Dodds Avenue, which is a block away. He also asked how many calls the fire hall would take during the late night and early morning hours and who the city bought the property from.
Interim Chief Lamar Flint said he would give answers to questions during the City Council's business meeting tonight.
