Man shot in the face in Chattanooga this morning, police say

A man was shot in the face in Chattanooga early this morning, police say.

Police responded to a shooting in the 2600 block of 4th Avenue around 1:13 a.m. where they found the victim, 34-year-old Michael Hudgins, according to a news release.

Hudgins was transported to a hospital for treatment of the nonlife-threatening injury.

It was reported to detectives that Hudgins was standing on the corner of 4th Avenue and Foust Street when the suspect shot him and fled the scene in a dark truck.
