Walker County's Heiskell urges voters to back November sales tax measure

Revenues are down, expenses are up - and it's critical that voters in Walker County, Ga,. approve a special purpose local options sales tax in November.

Those were the big themes Tuesday in county Sole Commissioner Bebe Heiskell's annual state of the county address.

About 100 people came to the Walker County Civic Center in Rock Spring to hear Heiskell speak at a county chamber of commerce luncheon.

"If the Walker County SPLOST does not pass, we are out of luck with keeping our roads paved," Heiskell told the crowd.
