A Chattanooga police officer shot and wounded a man he said tried to run over him early Saturday morning.

A police news release gave no details of where Officer Nathan Rogers was in relation to the vehicle or what he was doing when the incident happened in the 100 block of Elmwood Drive. The release stated that Rogers shot Lebron Brown, 24, in the arm after Brown tried to run over him.

Brown drove himself to the hospital, where he was arrested on a charge of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault.

Rogers, who was uninjured, has been placed on administrative leave during the investigation, which is standard procedure in an officer-involved shooting, the release stated.
