Two Boaz, Ala., residents were arrested in the Aroney community of DeKalb County and charged with drug-related offenses, a news release states.
Martin Allen Morgan, 44, and Tammy McElrath, 45, were arrested at the intersection of County Road 4 and County Road 15, according to a statement by Sheriff Jimmy Harris.
Deputies and a law enforcement canine found methamphetamines, drug paraphernalia and alcohol in the vehicle occupied by Morgan and McElrath, the release states.
Morgan was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, felony unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of a prohibited beverage. McElrath was and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, felony unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to comply, the release states.
Both suspects were taken to the DeKalb County Detention Center where they await bonds.
