NASHVILLE - A 4-year-old girl ran up against an unwritten rule about proper clothing and had to leave a Williamson County Parks and Recreation pool Friday.

Her mother, Sarah Parada of Franklin, said the encounter left the child unnecessarily shamed.

The child was swimming with bottoms, but no top, at Longview Recreation Center's indoor pool, and after a back-and-forth with lifeguards and a supervisor about policy, Parada left the building with her daughters, 4 and 9.

"It was really poorly handled," says Parada, who says she left a message to file a complaint with Longview. "She left feeling really ashamed of herself."
