Highway 153's intersection with Grubb Road and the North Walmart entrance, both in Hixson, are due to see work on traffic controls beginning Tuesday, dependent on the weather.

As the work is carried out, the traffic signals will be turned off and police officers will be present to control traffic, a news release said. It also suggested that drivers should approach the intersections as a four-way stop and should use caution in their approaches.

The signal cabinets are being upgraded to accommodate signal modifications that use a flashing yellow arrow for left turns.
