ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Kayla Christopher scored on a putback with eight seconds left to lift the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to the Southern Conference women's basketball tournament championship today at the U.S. Cellular Center, beating Davidson 64-63.

The Lady Mocs were behind nearly the entire second half, tying the game several times before the closing seconds. On its final possession, UTC needed three offensive rebounds before Christopher scored.

Davidson's Laura Murray took the final shot for the Wildcats and came up short, setting off a spirited Lady Mocs celebration.

UTC's Ashlen Dewart was named the tournament's most outstanding player. Dewart and Hall made the all-tournament first team and Alex Black was on the second team.
