Police say Tennessee man moved out of house and left dog inside to die

BEAN STATION, Tenn. - Hawkins County authorities say a Bean Station man moved out of a house and left a dog inside it to die.

The Kingsport Times-News (http://bit.ly/YUY8Ek ) reported the Hawkins County Sheriff's Office charged 48-year-old William Charles Harville with cruelty to animals.

Deputies responded to a call on Feb. 24 after the caller discovered a dead dog in a house in Mooresburg recently sold at public auction.

Deputy Jeremy Nash stated in a police affidavit that he had contact with Harville in 2012 and knew he lived at the address of the house at the time.

The buyer of the house said it had been abandoned for more than three months.
