Woman faces charges after message left on toilet

MOUNT PLEASANT, Tenn. - A Middle Tennessee woman is facing charges after police say she displayed a vulgar message about an officer who arrested her daughter on a drug charge.

The Daily Herald (bit.ly/YgRRUD) reports 48-year-old Patti M. Cole faces a charge of disorderly conduct after leaving the message on a broken toilet in front of a home she owns in Mount Pleasant.

The officer who the message was directed toward, Maury County Sgt. Rob Wagonshutz, filed a complaint about the message, which led to the charge.

Wagonshutz said that the message crossed the line of free expression because it used vulgar language and "created a physically offensive condition by an act that serves no legitimate purpose."

Cole did not respond to several messages left by the newspaper seeking comment.
