Political newcomer Clay Kissner won a seat on the Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., City Council by a landslide tonight.

Kissner got 403 votes, or about 73 percent of the vote, compared to 152 votes for former mayor and councilman Judd Burkhart.

The two vied to temporarily fill the council seat left vacant in November 2012 when Eddie Stinnett died of a heart attack.
