It's unclear whether a Chattanooga police car purposely was shot up on Fagan Street over the weekend, according to Chattanooga police.

Officer James Klein was driving in the 4100 block on his way to a disorder when numerous rounds struck his patrol car. Klein was uninjured and able to make it to safety, said Master Patrol Officer Nathan Hartwig.

Five rounds struck the vehicle at 11:38 p.m. Saturday.

Police still are searching for the suspects who fled the scene. Since the shooting, numerous residents have been interviewed by police.

The incident comes less than a week after a Chattanooga police officer was shot numerous times while responding to a call at East Lake Court housing project. Officer William McMillan suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. Celvin Houston, 39, was charged in connection to his shooting.

Anyone with any information about Saturday's shooting is asked to call Chattanooga police at 698-2525.
