EPB: High winds leave several hundred people in Chattanooga area without power

High winds Sunday left several hundred people in the Chattanooga area without power, EPB spokesman John Pless said.

Roughly 100 homes in the Brainerd area were still without power at 10:30 p.m.

Another 146 homes in Rossville and Fort Oglethorpe were in the dark Sunday night, but as of 10 p.m. most residents had power restored.

Pless said 12 crews have been deployed to handle the outages.

"We should be back up here shortly," he said.

According to the National Weather Service, the area is under a wind advisory through Monday night. Winds could reach 30 to 40 mph.
