A hung jury in Hamilton County Criminal Court late today resulted in Judge Rebecca Stern declaring a mistrial.

Temekia Reed was charged in the Dec. 19, 2011, stabbing death of 15-year-old Shaviya Vinson at the College Hill Courts public housing complex.

Witnesses testified that a street fight started between Natalia Reed, Temekia's mother, and Rene Cross, Vinson's sister, over a $20 babysitting fee Natalia Reed said she was owed.

During the fray, which included a crowd of more than a dozen people captured on cell phone video, Vinson was stabbed in the chest with a pair of purple-handled scissors.
