If you're a cyclist, or you want to get into the sport or even if you're just remotely interested in learning more, then May is the month for you. Not only is this officially National Bike Month, Chattanooga is taking center stage in the cycling world with three big events...

Three out of the four weekends this month offer some form of road racing, from the always popular 3 State, 3 Mountain Challenge to the very important Tour de Cure fundraising ride for the American Diabetes Association to the culmination of a year's worth of planning in the first-ever Scenic City riding of the USA Pro Cycling National Championships. From riders to spectators to event volunteers, everyone can take part in the 3 State or the Tour de Cure and even the pro race weekend offers local riders an option with the Children's Hospital Cycle for Miracles.

The pro races over Memorial Day weekend will not only put the top male and female racers onstage in both road racing and time trial events, they will also feature the top handcycling racers competing for a national championship as well. These are things you simply don't get to see often in your own backyard, yet Chattanoogans get this opportunity for at least the next three years.

Once again Chattanooga is being hailed as a hub for the best in outdoor adventure and the city will be showcased internationally as these world-class racers hit our roads later this month. An estimated 25,000 visitors are expected to come to town for the pro races over Memorial Day weekend, filling hotels, restaurants, shops and entertainment venues while taking in all the benefits our area offers.

The Scenic City clearly has the natural resources and amenities to attract these top-notch events. This month will be a great opportunity for you to Get Out and support cycling, your city and even some worthy causes.
