Brig. Gen. Jeffrey A. Sinclair was fired from his command in Afghanistan in May 2012 and now facing a court-martial on charges of sodomy, adultery and pornography and more, is just one in a long line of commanders whose careers were ended because of possible sexual misconduct.FORT BRAGG, N.C. - A military judge has ordered two U.S. Army generals to testify about whether they were pressured by superiors to charge another general with the alleged sexual assault of a female captain.
Military judge Col. James Pohl on Tuesday granted a pre-trial motion from lawyers representing accused Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Sinclair. It compels testimony by Lt. Gen. Dan Allyn and Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Colt.
Sinclair's legal team alleges that top Pentagon officials may have placed improper pressure on Allyn, then the commander of the 18th Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg.
A court martial for Sinclair is scheduled to begin June 25 on charges that include forcible sodomy, indecent acts, violating orders and adultery.
Allyn could testify as soon as Wednesday. It was not immediately clear when Colt might take the stand.
