Ringgold, Ga., man charged with impersonating SC officer

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - A Georgia man has been arrested and accused of impersonating a police officer in South Carolina.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office has charged 24-year-old Christopher Brandon King of Ringgold, Ga., with impersonating a law enforcement officer.

A couple told deputies they were stopped in Duncan on May 8 by a driver who began flashing his vehicle's lights and trying to pull them over.

The couple says the driver of the car got out and yelled that they were speeding. They say they questioned him since he was in an unmarked vehicle and was not wearing a uniform and he told them he was a police officer.

King was arrested Thursday at the BMW plant near Greer.

It was not clear if he has a lawyer.
