The search for Cleveland State Community College's next president is down to three final candidates.

The school of more than 3,000 students rolled out the red carpet Monday morning for a week of campus appearances in the quest to replace Carl Hite, who spent 17 years as the college's president.

The finalists are Gene Couch, Jr., Niles Reddick and William Seymour. Each candidate is currently a vice president or executive vice president for a southeastern community or agricultural college.

All three finalists will appear with the 17-member Presidential Advisory Search Committee in the George R. Johnson Cultural Heritage room. The events are open to the public and campus community.

"These campus-wide interviews are designed to give faculty, staff and students an opportunity not only to be involved in the process, but actively engaged with the candidates through questions and comments," according to a press release.

Tennessee Board of Regents Chancellor John Morgan will announce his plans to recommend a candidate as the next president before December 5, when the Board of Regents will meet to consider his recommendation.

The college will set up Internet streaming for those who want to watch and listen to the Presidential Advisory Committee Interviews of the candidates from 8 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. Wednesday, as the interview room will be limited to media and administrators.
