ATLANTA - A freeze watch has been issued for almost all of north Georgia ahead of an arctic blast of air that's expected to send temperatures plummeting.

The National Weather Service says the freeze watch will be in effect from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning. Temperatures in some parts of north Georgia could fall to the mid-20s Tuesday night.

The watch includes all of metro Atlanta and several Georgia cities including LaGrange, Eatonton, Athens, Gainesville, Blairsville, Dalton and Rome.

Forecasters say a dusting of snow is possible in the north Georgia mountains, but they say little or no snow accumulation is expected across most of the state.
