Cleveland, Tenn.'s Museum Center at 5ive Points is calling for submissions to display in its annual quilt show to open in late January, according to officials.

The theme of the show, set to run from Jan. 23 to March 1, 2014, is "Stitches in Time: Hand Quilting," and the museum is taking 25 quilts finished before 1950 and the first 25 contemporary submissions for exhibition, curator of collections Lisa Chastain said.

"This year's focus on hand quilting will be a fascinating exploration of the origins of this textile art form," Chastain said in a news release.

Submissions will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, she said. A qualified quilting expert will judge submissions for color, design and technique.

Quilters will vie for awards including Viewer's Choice and Best of Show in Large Contemporary, Small Contemporary, Antique, Duet, Group and Best Use of Color and Design categories.

Officials said anyone interested in participating should bring the quilt and completed application form to the museum between Jan. 2 and 10.

The Museum Center at 5ive Points is focused on the history and people of the Ocoee region through exhibitions and educational programming that promote history, culture and preservation.
