Hamilton County Commissioner Joe Graham says the county commission should rebid the joint city-county firing range project, saying the initial contract with Franklin Architects is null and void.

The suggestion was raised today during a regular agenda session. Graham said Franklin Architect has not met contractual requirements because the schematic designs presented to commissioners last week had a higher price tag than originally agreed to and fewer amenities. The schematics lack a long-range rifle range and parking spaces included in the original contract.

Commissioners are discussing whether the county will pay another $500,000 to the project today, and are set to vote on the issue next week.
