Driver shot in car across the street from Howard High School in Chattanooga

Chattanooga Police responded to the intersection of 11th and King streets today at 8:35 p.m. to meet with a shooting victim from an incident that started more than a mile away.

Carl Parks, the driver of a gray Lincoln LS, was shot at in the laundromat parking lot near the 2500 block of Market Street. Shots were fired at the Parks through the door and window, and he immediately moved the vehicle near 11th Street to call the police.

Parks's side door had numerous bullet holes, as well as a cracked headlight and grille. Parks was struck in the upper back. He was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the incident is under investigation, and more information will be released as it becomes available.

Bullet holes riddle the door of a car after the victim of a shooting at a laundromat across from Howard High School drove to the intersection of E. 11th Street and King Street before calling police Wednesday, Nov. 20, in Chattanooga. The victim was taken to a local hospital, and two passengers were reportedly unharmed.
