Foul play not suspected in death of UGA student

ATHENS, Ga. - Investigators say foul play is not suspected in the death of a University of Georgia student whose body was found in a creek.

Athens-Clarke County police said in a statement Tuesday night that 22-year-old Rebecca Elaine Greene's manner of death is not a homicide and an autopsy on the woman didn't show any signs of foul play.

An Athens-Clarke County police officer found Greene's body in an area of west Athens Tuesday morning where her cellphone's signal was last detected.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Sherry Lang has said agents found Greene's phone and bicycle on the scene.

Police have said Greene was last heard from around 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Greene's body was sent to the GBI's crime lab in Decatur. Investigators say the woman's cause of death is unclear.
