Greer guilty in 2010 Harrison slaying; gets life sentence

A jury found Dominique Greer guilty in the July 21, 2010 shooting death of Darrian Moore.

He received an automatic life sentence on his first degree murder conviction.

The retrial of Greer began Tuesday. Prosecutors claimed that Greer, 21, had plotted along with Dwight Turner Jr. and Franklin Wood Jr. to rob Moore, 21, at his parents' 5802 Shady Hollow Lane home in Harrison.

Wood had been friends with Moore but the pair had a falling out, according to testimony. Wood knew Moore worked at FedEx and believed Moore had $3,000 in the bank.

Days before the murder, Turner backed out, worried that if Moore were killed they would all face serious charges, he testified.

Wood was originally charged in the killing but later pleaded guilty to facilitation of especially aggravated robbery in exchange for his testimony. He's scheduled to be sentenced in December. He faces eight to 12 years but would likely be parole eligible in three to four years.

Turner was never charged in connection to the crime.
