In three-and-a-half hours Wednesday night, three separate wrecks in Chattanooga left two dead and one in critical condition at an area hospital.

Police said Thursday they believed the third victim, an unnamed female, would become the third fatality from Wednesday's unusual string of deadly crashes.

• Around 9 p.m. Wednesday, 44-year-old Deani Jackson Locke was killed in the 5900 block of Highway 153 after she parked her motorcycle and walked into a lane of traffic, where a northbound truck hit her.

Police said they believe Locke was picking something up that had fallen from her motorcycle.

Eddie Gene Davis Jr., 43, was headed north and hit Locke. Police said Davis originally thought he hit a deer.

Police said the accident was not a hit-and-run.

• Early Thursday morning 26-year-old Brandon Wilkins was found dead in his Dodge pickup off 1135 Lower Mill Road.

Police said Wilkins' truck appeared to have left the road and hit a tree, coming to rest at the bottom of an embankment.

Thursday evening, Chattanooga police Sgt. Adrian Gibb said authorities pinpointed the time of Wilkins' wreck to between 7 and 9 p.m. Wednesday.

• A female driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition Wednesday after her car left U.S. Highway 27 around 10:20 p.m. near the site of road-widening construction north of the Olgiati Bridge.

Police said in a news release the woman's car left the road, hit a guardrail and rolled. She reportedly was thrown out of the vehicle.

She was taken to the hospital, and Gibb said it was well into Thursday before police positively identified the woman.
