Vickie L. Powell, a 52-year-old Spring City, Tenn. resident, died in a two-car crash on U.S. Highway 27 north of Spring City on Friday afternoon.

According to early Tennessee Highway Patrol reports, 62-year-old Victor Kirkpatrick of Rockwood, Tenn., was pulling out of a private lot when his 2000 Chevrolet crossed northbound lanes, into "[Powell's] lane of travel."

Neither of the drivers were wearing seat belts.

Powell's vehicle reportedly struck the Chevrolet's driver door. Powell was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
