A 21-year-old man has suffered a head injury after falling 30 feet in a National Park on Signal Mountain while it was closed due to the government shutdown.

The man went hiking at Signal Point Trail with friends this morning when he stopped to see the scenery and fell down a bluff, according to a news release from authorities.

The man was transported via EMS to Erlanger Medical Center.

The man's name is currently unknown, the release stated.

Authorities say there are signs posted at the trail entrance that the park was closed.
