Tenn. death row inmate convicted in Fla. murder

A Tennessee death row inmate who murdered a Shelby County couple in 2003 has been convicted of killing a 19-year-old man in Florida.

The Shelby County district attorney's office says Henry Lee Jones was convicted Tuesday of killing Carlos Perez on Aug. 27, 2003, in Melbourne, Fla. Jurors now will decide whether to sentence him to life in prison or death.

Jones has been on death row in Tennessee since his 2009 conviction for the brutal slayings of 82-year-old Clarence James and his wife, 67-year-old Lillian James. The couple was found stabbed, bound and strangled in their home in the Memphis suburb of Bartlett.

Perez was killed in a similar fashion days after the couple's death.

Jones also remains the main suspect in the 2002 death of 24-year-old Keith Gross of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
