Police in Clarksville, Tenn., shoot, kill sick coyote

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Police in Clarksville have shot and killed a sick coyote.

The Leaf-Chronicle reported that a resident living near the Kentucky-Tennessee state line reported the animal Monday morning.

Police spokeswoman Natalie Hall says when officers arrived, they found a coyote that appeared to be sick. Hall says it had foam coming from its mouth, and its eyes were discolored.

Police shot the coyote.

State wildlife officials later concluded the animal suffered from distemper.
