Prosecutors have charged Cee Lo Green with illegally giving a woman ecstasy while at a dinner in Los Angeles last year.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office charged the singer, whose real name is Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, on Monday. Callaway was charged with one felony count of furnishing a controlled substance. If convicted he faces four years in state prison.
Prosecutors say they declined to file a rape charge against the singer. The 39-year-old singer is due to be arraigned this afternoon.
The singer's representatives did not have an immediate comment about the drug-related charges.
Callaway is the Grammy winning singer of the hit "Forget You" and performed as part of the duo Gnarls Barkley. He appears as a judge on NBC's "The Voice" competition show.
This summer, he appeared on the Coca-Cola stage at the Riverbend Festival, a performance that created some controversy after he swore on stage, "mooned" the audience and drank onstage. He later apologized, saying he meant no harm.
