Public Art Chattanooga (PAC) is accepting requests for proposals for its permanent collection of public art on Main Street until Oct. 31.
PAC wants to buy up to three sculptures from artists to be included in the Art on Main program, according to a news release from the city.
This request for proposals will conclude the Art on Main program, after adding up to three new acquisitions that will be chosen for select sites along East and West Main Streets, the news release stated.
Art on Main began in 2007 as a biennial temporary rotating exhibition of outdoor sculptures placed along the sidewalks of Main Street in downtown Chattanooga. Since 2007, Public Art Chattanooga has exhibited more than 20 works and has been able to build a permanent collection through purchases from this exhibit, according to the news release.
This program is made possible from a Lyndhurst Foundation grant.
