The Bradley County Sheriff's Office has announced its arrest of swimming pool contractor Bruce Whitten Sr. on a 13-county indictment for failing to complete contracted work.

Whitten, 59, of Davis Drive in Cleveland, Tenn., is in custody with his bond set at $100,000.

The grand jury last week indicted the contractor on five counts of contractors' misapplication of payment, two counts of offense by a home improvement service, two counts of theft over $10,000, three counts of theft over $1,000 and a count of theft over $500.

In a news release, the Bradley County Sheriff's Office said the ongoing investigation went back to 2009.

It said the office had received seven complaints from clients of Whitten's business about work that was paid for but wasn't done or completed. Three customers had turned to other contractors to complete work Whitten had contracted to do, the release said.
