Parents on guard after girl reports kidnap attempt near Atlanta

CLARKSTON, Ga. - School officials near Atlanta are warning parents and bus drivers to be on guard after a sixth-grade girl reported that a man tried to abduct her at a school bus stop.

Parents were asked to walk their children to their bus stops in the Clarkston area of DeKalb County as police continue to investigate. Bus drivers are being asked to monitor their routes.

The Freedom Middle School student said a man driving a gold Nissan approached her at the bus stop in the Nielson Drive/Nielson Court area and attempted to grab her Tuesday morning. She told WSB-TV that the man grabbed her by the arm. She said she kicked him and ran for help.
