Volunteer Energy Cooperative has announced that power has been restored to the nearly 9,000 customers who had lost service early this morning in southern Cumberland County.
A failure in a transmission line had led to the loss of service early in the morning. It initially affected about 9,000 VEC customers.
By mid-morning, all but 2,000 customers had had their power restored.
"We apologize for the inconveniences this outage caused," said VEC Vice President of Operations Clyde Jolley.
