Small plane crashes into lake in Guntersville

GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. - Federal officials are investigating the crash of a small plane that went into a lake just short of a runway at the airport in Guntersville.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the Piper PA 32 aircraft went into the water just short of Runway 21 shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday.

An FAA spokeswoman says two people were on board the plane, and local authorities reported that no one was injured.

The FAA is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
