The Red Bank Police Department has reported a motorcyclist was killed Thursday night as a result of a crash at the intersection of Dayton Boulevard and Midvale Avenue.

A news release said the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Dayton Boulevard when he hit the driver side door of a PT Cruiser whose driver pulled into his path. The release said the vehicle was coming out of the parking lot of a McDonald's Restaurant in an attempt to cross Dayton Boulevard.

The release said the motorcycle rider was thrown from his motorcycle that slid across Dayton Boulevard and hit a northbound truck.

The motorcyclist was taken to Erlanger Medial Center where he was pronounced dead shorty thereafter.

Red Bank Police Chief Tim Christol said the traffic division of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is assisting with the investigation.

This is the sixth motorcycle fatality this year in Hamilton County.
