Trial begins for 2 Tennessee men charged in soldier's death

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - The trial has begun for two Tennessee men charged with killing a Fort Campbell solder who was giving them a ride home.

The Leaf-Chronicle reports that jurors were selected on Monday and opening statements were scheduled today in the trial of 19-year-old Giovanne Treymane Johnson and 18-year-old Rakeem Rashan Jones. The two are charged with first-degree murder, felony murder and especially aggravated robbery in the death of 22-year-old Spc. Taylor Hotzoglou.

The soldier was shot multiple times on April 28 in Clarksville, Tenn., after giving the two teenagers a ride. He was found by a passer-by dead in his car.

The trial is expected to last up to four days.
