Soldier from north Georgia killed in Afghanistan

ATLANTA - A soldier from north Georgia has been killed in Afghanistan.

Military officials say 23-year-old Spc. Joshua J. Strickland of Woodstock was among three soldiers who died Sept. 21 from wounds they suffered when their unit was attacked while conducting range training.

Also killed in the attack was 32-year-old Staff Sgt. Liam Jules Nevins of Denver; and 30-year-old Staff Sgt. Timothy R. McGill of Ramsey, N.J.

All were assigned to Special Forces units.
