The Volunteer Energy Cooperative has announced that about 220 of its customers in Polk County will be without power for several hours Wednesday morning.
VEC said this planned outage will last from 9 a.m. until noon and is required to allow its crews to carry out system maintenance and upgrades.
Areas that will be affected include Busted Rock Road, Delta Drive, Railroad Circle, Ladd Springs Road, Ball Play Road, J. Wilson Road, Horns Creek Road, Sand Mountain Road and Kirby Lane.
In case of bad weather, the work and the outage may be delayed.
VEC said it apologizes for any inconveniences the outage may cause.
