GADSDEN, Ala. - A woman facing a possible death sentence in the running death of her 9-year-old granddaughter is seeking details about Alabama's execution methods.

Joyce Garrard is asking a judge to make prosecutors release information about Alabama's procedures for conducting lethal injections.

The state recently disclosed it is out of out of a drug used in the process.

A judge has scheduled a hearing for Garrard for today in Gadsden, but it's unclear whether he will consider the motion on capital punishment.

The 48-year-old Garrard also is seeking evidence related to the capital murder charge against her.

Garrard is charged in the death of Savannah Hardin in 2012. Prosecutors say the woman made the girl run as punishment until she collapsed.

Garrard says she's innocent. The girl's stepmother also is charged.
