Texas shoe stabbing trial close to going to jury

HOUSTON - Jurors are expected to soon get the case of a Houston woman accused of stabbing to death her boyfriend with the 5½-inch stiletto heel of her shoe.

Ana Trujillo is accused of striking 59-year-old Alf Stefan Andersson at least 25 times in the face with her shoe during an argument in June at his Houston condominium. Her attorneys say she was defending herself from an attack by Andersson.

Prosecutors are set to present three rebuttal witnesses on Tuesday. Closing arguments would likely start after that.

Defense attorneys rested their case Monday. One of their last witnesses, a martial arts expert, helped to demonstrate how defense attorneys contend Trujillo was attacked.

Trujillo faces up to life in prison if she is convicted of murder.
