34 area public school teachers receive Fund for Teachers grants

Area teachers receiving Fund for Teachers grants through PEF to travel around the world this summer to learn things they can then share with their students have been announced.

Hamilton County teachers who have received grants are:

- Battle Academy teacher Cynthia Kean

- Lookout Valley Elementary teacher Joy Cliett

- Red Bank Elementary teacher Jamelie Johns

- Wallace A. Smith Elementary teacher Michelle Lowe

- Brainerd High teachers Dale Dworak and Rachel Swafford-Cook

- Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences teacher Ben Schultz

- Hamilton County High teacher Rachel Goan

- Hixson High teacher Brinn Dalton

- Hixson Middle teacher Jeremy Henderson

- Normal Park Museum Magnet teachers Sue Nelson and Jamie Tipton

- Orchard Knob Elementary teachers Lori Cleveland and Danette Jewell
